The Lombok Weaving Heritage Journey invites you to immerse yourself in the richness of Lombok’s culture, weaving traditions, and the daily lives of its indigenous communities through an authentic, warm, and meaningful experience. More than just a trip, this journey is an opportunity to connect directly with a living cultural heritage that continues to thrive today.
The adventure begins in Central Lombok and continues to North Lombok, where you will be welcomed by the local Bayan community, known for its deep-rooted history, traditions, and local wisdom. Here, you will gain closer insight into indigenous ways of life, explore traditional villages, and experience the genuine hospitality of a culture that remains strongly preserved.
The journey continues with an immersive exploration of Lombok’s weaving heritage, particularly in Sukarara Village. You will witness firsthand the process of traditional textile-making, learn directly from local artisans, and even try weaving yourself alongside the TORAJAMELO community partner.
Beyond culture, this journey also takes you through Lombok’s natural beauty, from refreshing waterfalls and the majestic highlands of Sembalun to the serene mangrove forests along the coast, especially enchanting at sunset.

Arrival in Lombok & Cultural Welcome Experience
The journey begins with a flight from Jakarta to Lombok. Upon arrival at Lombok International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a local guide before continuing to Bonjeruk Village (approximately 45 minutes).
In Bonjeruk Village, you will enjoy a lunch featuring local specialties, served in a warm and humble village setting, offering your first authentic glimpse into the daily life of Lombok’s communities.
After lunch, the journey continues to Bayan in North Lombok, with an approximate travel time of 2 hours and 45 minutes, passing through Lombok’s scenic and unspoiled landscapes.
Upon arrival in Bayan, you will be greeted with traditional drinks and snacks as a gesture of local hospitality. You will then take part in a cultural experience with the community, learning about the rich history and heritage of Bayan, followed by an authentic dinner shared with local residents.
In the evening, you will proceed to your hotel for check-in and rest, ending your first day in the tranquil atmosphere of North Lombok.

Bayan Weaving Heritage & Nature Experience
After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin the day with a journey to Bayan Traditional Village, known as a center of cultural heritage and traditional weaving in North Lombok.
Here, you will visit the Old Bayan Mosque and traditional houses while gaining deeper insight into the local community’s way of life and enduring traditions. The journey continues with a visit to the TORAJAMELO's weaving community partner, where you will have the opportunity to try weaving firsthand and learn about the cultural significance behind Bayan’s distinctive textiles.
At midday, you will enjoy a warm and authentic traditional lunch with the local community, creating a meaningful moment of connection.
Afterward, you will visit the Bayan community’s permaculture garden, where you can take part in planting and harvesting activities while learning about sustainability, culture, and the history of the indigenous community.
In the afternoon, the journey continues to Sendang Gile Waterfall and Tiu Kelep Waterfall, where you can enjoy the natural beauty, a light trek, and the chance to swim in a refreshing and serene setting.
The day concludes with a return to the hotel for dinner and rest.

Sembalun Views, Sukarara Weaving & Mangrove Sunset Experience
After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and begin your overland journey to Sukarara Village via Sembalun, with an approximate travel time of 2 hours and 45 minutes, passing through Lombok’s stunning mountain landscapes.
In Sembalun, you will make a short stop at a viewpoint to take in the scenic panorama while enjoying light refreshments before continuing the journey.
Upon arrival in Sukarara Village, you will be welcomed with a traditional dance performance as a gesture of cultural hospitality, followed by a welcome drink and a local lunch. The atmosphere of this weaving village immediately feels warm and authentic.
The journey continues with an immersive experience alongside the TORAJAMELO's weaving community partner, where you will witness the weaving process firsthand, learn about the philosophy behind the textiles, and try weaving together with local artisans.
In the afternoon, you will head to the Cemare Mangrove Forest area to take part in a mangrove planting activity, enjoy the coastal ambiance, and witness a serene and beautiful sunset.
In the evening, you will enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant, followed by free time for souvenir shopping before returning to the hotel for check-in and rest.

Departure from Lombok
After breakfast at the hotel, you will enjoy some free time in the morning before checking out.
The journey then continues with a transfer to Lombok International Airport, approximately a 1-hour drive. Upon arrival, you will proceed with your flight check-in for your return journey to your home city or next destination.
This marks the end of your Lombok Weaving Heritage Journey, leaving you with meaningful memories of culture, traditional weaving, nature, and the warm hospitality of the Lombok community.
