Arrival in Ende: Tracing History, Culture, and the Journey to Kelimutu
The journey begins from Jakarta to H. Hasan Aroeboesman Airport in Ende, the gateway to the natural beauty and history of Flores. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the local team before continuing to a nearby restaurant to enjoy a regional lunch from Ende.
The journey then continues to Bung Karno’s Exile House in Ende, a historic site that holds the traces of Soekarno’s reflections and thoughts during his period of exile. From here, you will travel overland toward the Kelimutu area (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes), passing through the ever-changing landscapes of Flores, lush green hills and traditional villages along the way.
Midway through the journey, you will stop at Saga Traditional Village, a community that continues to preserve its cultural heritage and communal way of life. The trip then continues toward Kelimutu (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes) until arrival at the hotel for check-in, dinner, and rest.
The first day closes in a peaceful atmosphere at the foot of the mountain, preparing you for the magical experience that awaits the next day.

Sacred Kelimutu: Rituals, Nature, and Living Traditions of the Lio People
The second day begins with free time at your hotel in the Kelimutu area, where you can enjoy breakfast surrounded by the calm mountain atmosphere and the cool air of Flores. Afterward, you will continue your journey to the site of the traditional Pati Ka Du’a Bapu Ata Mata ritual, a sacred ceremony of the Lio people held in the Kelimutu lake area. Here, you will witness and experience firsthand a cultural practice passed down through generations as a form of reverence for ancestors and nature.
Following this profound cultural experience, the journey continues with lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you may choose to join a light trek to Murundao Waterfall or enjoy free time at the hotel to rest and reflect on the day’s experiences. The tranquil natural setting of Flores offers a space to slow down and absorb the deeper meaning of the journey.
The day concludes with dinner at the hotel and time to rest, closing a day of meaningful encounters between nature, culture, and spirituality at the foot of Mount Kelimutu.

From Sacred Sunrise to Living Weaving Heritage of Nggela
The third day begins early with a journey to the Kelimutu area to witness a magical sunrise, following a light trek of approximately 20–30 minutes. At the edge of the sacred crater lakes, you will take in the quiet morning atmosphere, accompanied by the first light of day and a light breakfast in the open air, an experience that brings together landscape, time, and stillness. Afterward, you will return to the hotel for breakfast and check-out.
The journey then continues to Nggela Traditional Village (approximately 45 minutes), where you will be warmly welcomed by the local community with a traditional drink as a gesture of hospitality. In the village, you will visit the TORAJAMELO weaving community partner, observe the traditional weaving process, and take part in a hands-on weaving experience alongside artisans who carefully preserve this cultural heritage.
After a shared lunch in the village, you will head to your accommodation for check-in and a short rest. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the coastal surroundings, take a leisurely walk through the village, interact with locals, or optionally join a trek to Murunderu Waterfall.
The day concludes with dinner at the hotel and time to rest, marking a journey that flows from the serenity of Kelimutu’s natural landscape to the warmth of cultural life in Nggela.

Coastal Farewell: From Koka Beach to the Weaving Heritage of Maumere.
The final day begins with free time at your hotel in Flores, where you can enjoy breakfast before check-out and prepare for an overland journey to Maumere (approximately 4 hours). Along the way, you will pass through the serene and colorful coastal landscapes of Flores, with a brief stop at Koka Beach to rest and take in its unspoiled ocean views.
The journey continues to Sanggar Doka Tana Tawa (approximately 2 hours), where you will be warmly welcomed by the local community with a welcome drink and a traditional dance performance that reflects the cultural identity of Maumere. Here, you will also meet the TORAJAMELO weaving community partner, observe the traditional weaving process, and have the opportunity to try weaving alongside local artisans.
In the afternoon, you will head to your hotel in Maumere for check-in and some free time, before closing the journey with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. This final day offers a warm conclusion, blending coastal beauty, cultural heritage, and meaningful human connections that leave a lasting impression from your journey in Flores.

Homebound from Maumere: Carrying Stories of Flores.
The final day begins with free time at your hotel in Maumere, where you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast before check-out. Afterward, you will continue your journey to Fransiskus Xaverius Seda Airport, marking the end of your time on the island of Flores.
On the short transfer to the airport, you carry with you the impressions of a journey that has taken you across mountains, traditional villages, coastlines, and vibrant cultural communities. Upon arrival at the airport, you will proceed with check-in for your onward flight.
