Arrival in Toba: Lakeside Welcome and Cultural Discovery.

The journey begins from Jakarta to Silangit International Airport, the main gateway to the Lake Toba region. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a local guide and begin a short transfer to enjoy morning coffee at Piltik Coffee, surrounded by the cool atmosphere of the highlands.

The journey then continues to Samosir Island (approximately 2 hours), with an optional stop at Tele Viewpoint to take in panoramic views of Lake Toba from above. Along the way, you will stop for lunch at Tepi Coffee & Eatery, offering a serene lakeside setting.

Upon arrival at the hotel, you will check in and take a short rest before continuing your cultural exploration to Huta Siallagan, a traditional Batak village rich in history, followed by a visit to Tomok Village to witness the iconic Sigale-gale performance and Tor-Tor dance.

The first day concludes with dinner at the hotel and time to rest, as you unwind in the peaceful surroundings of Lake Toba.

Living Threads of Toba: Culture, Weaving, and Lakeside Serenity

The second day begins with free time at your hotel in the Lake Toba area, where you can enjoy breakfast while taking in the calm lakeside atmosphere and the cool air of Samosir. Afterward, you will be picked up to continue your journey to Lumban Suhi-Suhi Village and the Huta Raja area, known as a cultural hub and center for traditional Batak ulos weaving.

Here, you will visit traditional Batak houses and meet the TORAJAMELO community partner of ulos weavers, observing the traditional weaving process and trying a hands-on weaving experience using traditional looms. You will also engage in discussions with local artisans about the meaning of ulos, natural dyeing techniques, and the cultural values embedded within each textile.

The journey continues with a shared lunch alongside the local community before heading to Rumah Kaca Simanindo. Here, you will enjoy local snacks and explore the Rumah Bolon and museum, which preserve the rich heritage of the Batak people.

In the afternoon, you will return to your hotel in Samosir for free time, with optional activities such as kayaking on the lake. The day concludes with dinner at the hotel and time to rest, as you take in the warmth of Batak culture and the serenity of Lake Toba.

Sailing Toba & Ecovillage Experience: From Lake to Living Sustainability

The third day begins with a relaxed breakfast at your hotel in the Lake Toba area, before you are transferred to the harbor to begin your lake journey. You will board a phinisi boat and sail across the beauty of Lake Toba, surrounded by tranquil waters and lush green hills. Along the way, you will stop at Batu Gantung and Tulas Island, two iconic sites that offer both natural beauty and local legends within Southeast Asia’s largest volcanic lake.

After lunch on board, you will return to the hotel to rest and enjoy some free time before continuing with a short sailing experience on Lake Toba aboard the Kenzo Phinisi, accompanied by coffee and the calming ambiance of the lake.

In the late afternoon, the journey continues to Ecovillage Silimalombu, a living example of sustainable living that introduces the concept of permaculture farming. Here, you will learn directly about environmentally friendly agricultural practices and take part in a workshop on making and tasting mango wine with the local community.

The day concludes with a farewell dinner at the ecovillage, before returning to your hotel in Samosir for a well-deserved rest, closing a day that flows seamlessly from lake exploration to cultural insight and sustainable living.

Farewell from Toba: Carrying Stories of the Lake Home

The final day begins with a relaxed breakfast at your hotel in the Lake Toba area, enjoying the calm morning atmosphere before check-out. Afterward, you will continue your overland journey to Silangit International Airport (approximately 3 hours), passing once again through the rolling hills and villages that surround the lake.

Along the way, there will be optional time to purchase local souvenirs as mementos of your journey in Toba. Upon arrival at the airport, you will proceed with check-in for your onward flight.

With this, your journey in Lake Toba comes to a close, leaving you with lasting memories of majestic landscapes, the richness of Batak culture, and meaningful encounters with local communities. A homeward journey that carries not only stories, but also new perspectives on life and nature.
