This Astronomy Experience invites you to step away from the routines of the city and enter an open natural setting in Sukabumi, where mountains, forests, and clear night skies come together as one immersive experience. Throughout the journey, you are invited to slow down, connect with nature, and gain a new perspective on the relationship between humans and the universe.
The experience begins with nature exploration such as light trekking and a visit to the Situ Gunung Suspension Bridge, offering a sense of adventure within a calm, lush forest. Activities continue with community and nature based experiences such as Nature Hunt, mono printing, and palm sugar education, introducing local wisdom through hands-on practice.
As night falls, you will enter the highlight of the journey: a stargazing session with an Astronomy Storyteller, observing the Milky Way and other celestial phenomena in a quiet setting with minimal light pollution. The experience is completed with a morning hike and solar observation, offering new insights into natural cycles and humanity’s place within the cosmos.

itinerary
Arrival in Sukabumi: Gateway to the Night Sky
The journey begins from the meeting point in Jakarta to Sukabumi (approximately 2.5 hours), leading you into a calm mountain setting far from the city’s light pollution. Upon arrival at the accommodation, you will be welcomed with a welcome drink and an opening session with an Astronomy Storyteller, who will introduce the evening’s journey through stories of the sky and the universe.
The atmosphere then shifts into a more playful experience with a flying fox activity, followed by lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, you will explore the Situ Gunung Suspension Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in Indonesia, stretching above a lush green forest.
As night approaches, you will have time to rest and prepare for the main highlight of the journey: stargazing. Under Sukabumi’s dark sky, you will take part in a guided night sky observation, from the Milky Way to the possibility of meteor showers, enhanced by astronomy storytelling to deepen your understanding of the cosmos.
The first day concludes with a magical night sky experience and a restful evening immersed in nature.
Nature Craft, Local Wisdom & Stargazing Under Sukabumi Sky.
The second day begins with free time at the campsite in Sukabumi, where you can enjoy a simple breakfast surrounded by the calm mountain atmosphere. In the morning, you will take part in a Nature Hunt & Mono Print experience with fellow travelers, exploring the surrounding environment while creating art using natural elements found along the trail.
After a local-style lunch and some rest, the journey continues with a palm sugar education session. You will learn directly about the process of making sugar from coconut trees, and take part in a hands-on experience alongside the local community.
As evening approaches, you will have time to prepare and join an introductory session with the Astronomy Storyteller, offering a deeper perspective on the night sky. The highlight of the day follows with a stargazing session under Sukabumi’s sky, observing the Milky Way or possible meteor showers in a quiet, awe-inspiring setting.
The day concludes with a moment of reflection and rest in the openness of nature.
Sunrise Hike, Solar Discovery & Farewell from Sukabumi.
The final day begins with free time at the campsite in Sukabumi, where you can enjoy breakfast amidst the calm mountain atmosphere. In the morning, you will take part in a light hike through the surrounding hills, following natural trails while taking in expansive green views and the crisp mountain air.
After returning and getting ready, the journey continues with a unique solar observation experience. Using specialized instruments, you will observe the sun while gaining insight into daytime astronomical phenomena, offering a deeper understanding of the relationship between Earth and the sky.
The experience continues with a farewell lunch at the accommodation area before check-out. Afterward, you will travel back to the meeting point in Jakarta (approximately 1.5–3 hours by road).
With this, the Astronomy Experience comes to a close, leaving you with lasting impressions of nature, exploration, and a deeper connection between humanity and the wider universe.
